The Disappearing Damsel - A Poem

Like the perfume she left weeks before, she stayed

Lingering in my sheets, kissing on my skin

Until the sun kissed hers through a dancing curtain

Letting us both know it was morning

And like a late night cigarette, burning red-hot

She was soon nothing but a cloud of smoke

Disappearing into the wind

Letting it take her wherever it may.
