Insights Into Character - A Poem
I've been on a long journey of dismay
I've both lost and found myself along the way
I've been a lost and lone rolling stone
And strolled further and further into the unkown
I question whether I can love and why I can hate
I question if my lies have sealed my fate
I question if my words are true
Or if I'm falsifying some grand virtue
I work hard and I break my back
I play hard until my memory turns to black
I busy myself and laze a lot
Will I amount to something or will I rot?
Day by day I grow more impatient to the tedium
I regard myself too highly to become medium
Do I have a complex that eludes to narcissism?
Or do I have an interesting intellect and wisdom?
I've reached a point that feels stressfully pivotal
Yet it all feels so trivial
Will the choices I make let everyone remember my name?
Or am I still lifelessly leading myself down a path to a life so mundane?
