I'll Be Okay - A Poem

If only the grass beneath my feet

So fresh and lush and green

Never died under the sky

Of a dry winter heat

If only it were blue skies

For the rest of my life

The seasons wouldn't change

And I'd have no reason to cry

But if it weren't for those tears I cried

On so many sleepless nights

Would the best that was ahead

Have ever even arrived?

Comfort kills things

Worse than anything I've seen

And the pain of persistance

Can feel like a long, bad dream

But so long as the sun shines

Hope remains

And so long as your alive

I know I'll be okay.
